On November 5, with the completion of a 500-meter long steel rail installation at CH93+400, the Madong Railway project by China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC) has laid 300.6 kilometers of track, marking 50% of the total 600-kilometer main line. This is another milestone in the track-laying progress.
The main line track-laying for the Madong Railway project officially started on December 11, 2023, and within less than a year, over half of the main line tracks have been laid. Since the start of the project, the team has overcome challenges such as discontinuous work area transfers. With unified leadership and cooperation, they achieved track connectivity for eight stations and seven intervals ahead of schedule, and are now close to connecting 11 stations and 10 intervals. The front-end track-laying team emphasizes safety, quality, and steady progress, while the back-end bases fully support the front, ensuring stable supply and efficient coordination.
The progress of the main line track-laying has attracted local attention, media coverage, and expectations from the client, showcasing China's construction capabilities. With 12 observation rides since March, the positive feedback has laid a solid foundation for the future operation of the Madong Railway. The team will continue to strive and aim to achieve full track connectivity between Sections A and B by reaching Kota Bharu before the Spring Festival.
